FBI has updated its API; The old API exposed the number of persons arrested by race. However, FBI needs to fix that functionality in the new API. In the meantime the Arrests CDE buttton is provided to take you to the FBI Crime Data Explorer where you can ascertain number of persons arrested.

This app does provide arrested person count at the national level through a download of data from the CDE for years 2020-2023.

National level arrests for other years are available through the Arrests CDE button.

With the old API this app provided number of persons arrested by race at all levels but currently until the FBI fixes things on its end, the app only provides counts and percentages by specific crime categories and by number of charges across all categories for all geographic level. The FBI all crimes selection is also currently broken as they need to fix that.

The total charges selection computes the number of charges. This is not the number of persons as a person may face multiple charges.

The default Offense is violent-crime.
